Yes. We maintain Contractor's Liability Insurance, and Workman's Compensation insurance on the helper. We are not bonded. We maintain a Business (Maintenance) License from The City of Jacksonville. Since all we do is maintenance on sliding glass doors, we are adequately licensed for our trade. The Limited Liability Company we work under ASGDR LLC can be found on SUNBIZ.ORG .
No. Mason and his stepson will be the technicians coming into your home and making the necessary repairs. Neither of us has a police record of any kind.
The common model of business is for the experienced man to settle down and hire someone to go out and do the work. This business owner prefers to get out and fix the doors for himself. This results in being able to sleep like a baby and maintain profitability through a minimization of pesky, warranty calls. Yes, I warrant my work.
This door repairman has been fixing doors long enough to be able to give a fairly, accurate range over the phone. We also don't have x-ray vision to know if the track has been damaged beyond just filing smooth. This means even when we show up and inspect the door track, many times we won't know if it has to be cut out and replaced until after we have gotten the doors off, and worked on it a bit. Also, there is not enough money in door repair to make several trips. I travel with a big, strong helper and don't send a salesman ahead, as that would just add extra fees onto the repair.
Absolutely. My old rule of thumb was that if both panels of glass are fogged- the door should be replaced. But with the cost of new doors going stratospheric, It might be cheaper to fix. Those on the beach should look and see if electrolysis has eaten holes through the frames at the bottom where the side stile connects to the bottom roller housing. If the decay is not too bad, we may be able to piece it together and get the customer another few years out of it. There are some doors out there that should be replaced.
Absolutely. I give a one year warranty and have even fixed some a bit older if I thought, the error could have been my fault. Being in this business for so long has forced me to run enough warranty calls to know what needs to be done the first time. These previous warranty calls I have already paid for and been educated by. Now, even with volume of door repair I maintain, warranty calls don't overwhelm me. On occasion, I get have a customer that is offended that I am so efficient and will abuse my warranty practice- not often. You would think all people would be ecstatic to have an advanced technician come in, resolve the problem with no wasted movement, at the agreed upon price, and give them back their day? Such is not always the case. These are usually the ones that were not there to watch us in action. So be forewarned: we are probably the most proficient repair team in any field that will ever come through your door. You may want to watch and see what 37 years of experience looks like in motion, if you are into systems. I have also trained and worked with stepson long enough that the current iteration of my door repair package is at it's zenith. I am very proud of where I am professionally and the value we deliver. Glory to God.
The quality of sliding glass door parts, like most things, has decreased over the years. In some cases bearing quality is so poor that we have to order housings with the stock bearings swapped out for Precision bearings. This sort of very specific experiential knowledge sets us apart.
This is a set of tandem rollers that is commonly used in my area that the factory bearings are inadequate. Having my jobber remove the factory bearings and replace with Precision costs more, but makes a huge difference in the resulting slide.
Above are 3 types of stainless steel track replacement products. The deep "V" kind is seldom used in this region. It is more for commercial type doors. The second is the "C" or light cap track. This is great to extend the life of a brand new door or add a saltwater kit to a door. It however, does not work well when existing, soft aluminum track is damaged.
The screw down or heavy duty track is the kind I use the most of. It is adequate for even really, heavy doors. I generally rivet this track in place and add a sealant under it.
There are stainless options for many doors. Above is a set of steel rollers that were taken out of a door that were so rusty, we went back in with some that would last longer.
Not all doors need stainless steel replacements. But if the roller that comes out is quite rusty then we know it would be wise. Pets, salt, chlorine, moisture all can be hard on metal.
When I shop for screws, I tend to buy exclusively, stainless steel so I don't have to carry two sets of screws.
We can repair existing screen doors on sliding glass doors. Replacing screen mesh and rollers is typical.
We do not sell new screen doors, as ASGDR LLC warrants its work for a year and screen doors are flimsy and unwarrantable.
We replace glass in most sliding glass doors.
We are not equipped to handle emergencies but do replace quite a bit of fogged and broken glass. We also will replace hardware so the door works better if necessary.
To get these door repairmen in your backyard just call, text, or email.
We fix many doors per day and bundle appointments by region for efficiency. We typically schedule a week out.

Keep the track clean and dry. Just use a moist paper towel or stiff brush and vacuum. Pay attention to remove compressed debris in jamb that prevent door from closing.
The only effective place one can put lubrication is in the bearing race. All other applications of products will give temporary relief but cause more problems. Furniture polish works where weatherstripping rubs frame.
Static stickers, suction cups, stick-on-glass locks and Nerf Darts are the culprit in many costly service calls. Keep these items away from the operational zones on doors.

We try and schedule our first and farthest appointment at 8am and work out way back to Camp. We are not super flexible in scheduling, which is due to the sheer number of doors we successfully fix each day. This turns out, some weeks to be our greatest sticking point with some customers.
Just changing the rollers with track in this condition will result in destroying the new rollers as they bounce along.
